Today is the Anniversary of the First X-ray in the U.S.

On this day in 1896, Dr. Henry Smith, a professor of physics at Davidson College in North Carolina, and his team created the first x-ray image in the U.S.
Dr. Smith’s advancements impacted many fields, including dentistry. Dental x-rays, formally called intraoral radiography, provide a detailed view of the mouth and assist in diagnosis. X-rays evolved from film to digital, which we provide in our office.
